Last summer, I attended many religious lectures in “Ad’wa Wa Al-Ershad”. I benefit from those lectures a lot,and I hope you all do so. This is on of them.
The wisdom behind not seeing Allah
Many people wonder and query about “not seeing Allah”. They keep asking over and over again :why cant we see Allah?
Well, if Allah_subhanhu wa ta’lla_ could be seen in the life, then the tests of this life would be pointless. i.e. having no purpose. Don’t you agree with me that what makes this life a real test is the fact that we obliged to believe in Allah without actually seeing Him. Since man’s mind is limited due to his weakness and Allah is limitless, then man can not hope to realize and understand anything about Allah’s attributes EXCEPT what Allah chooses to reveal to him.
So, Allah has revealed some of His attributes:
Ar-Rahman: which means He is the most Merciful, and there’s no creation has not been blessed by Allah’s divine mercy, whether they deserve it or not.
Al-Qadir: which means He is the All-Powerful=There’s nothing in this universe that Allah is unable to do. He’s the Master of everything. And others attributes…
In fact, man would end up like angles* in total obedience to Allah. Because Allah made man to be higher than the angles (Because for angles their beliefs in Allah was without choice), therefore man’s choice of belief over disbelief (skepticism)had to be in a situation where Allah’s existence could be questioned.
Hence, Allah -subhanhu wa ta’lla- has kept himself hidden from mankind. And He will continue to do so until the Judgment Day “Doom Day”.
Surely that doesn’t mean we’d not see Allah. But…
NEXT: “Seeing Allah in the next life (afterlife or hereafter)”.

*purely spiritual and splendid beings, whose nature requires no food/drink or sleep. They do not have physical desires of any kind or even material needs. They spend days & nights in the service of Allah.
