THE LISTENING PART B and C

* Part B of the listening Comprehension section of the TOEFL test consists of two long conversations each followed by a number of questions.

The conversations are often about some aspect of school life (how difficult a class is, how to register for a course). The conversations can also be about topics currently in news in the United States (desalination of water supply, recycling of used products …)

* Part C consists of three talks, each followed by a number of questions

Strategies:

* Listen carefully to the first line of the conversation. The first line often contains the main idea , subject ,or topics of the conversation, and you will often be asked to answer such questions.

* As you listen to the conversation, draw conclusions about the situation of the conversation :Who is talking ,Where the conversation takes place, or when it takes place.

* Never leave any answer blank

READING COMPREHENSION PART

Do not spend too much time reading the passages! You don't have time to read each reading passages in depth

Skim the reading passage to determine the main idea and overall organization of idea in the passage. You don't need to understand every detail.

Find the section of the passage that deals with each question. The question _type tells you exactly where to look in the passage to find the correct answer
* for main idea questions, look at the first line of each paragraph.
*for directly and indirectly answered detail question , choose a key word in the question, and skim for that key word.
*for vocabulary question ,the question will tell you where the word is located in the passage.

Good Luck

Thank you for the useful topic ..

I just want to say that the TOEFL is not a difficult test ,..

It just needs some practice and more studying..Unfortunately, many students find it difficult and hard to pass..

So, thank you for offering this great help.. Hope those who need it will benefit from it :)
